Inquiries you submit through this Site are handled within that brokerage relationship, and brokerage personnel — such as the broker, transaction coordinators, or administrative staff — may have access to your information where it is necessary to service your inquiry or to meet the brokerage's own supervisory and record-keeping obligations under Ohio real estate law. The Carlin Co., Realty & Auctioneers maintains its own privacy practices for information it holds.
  • Service providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate our website (e.g., form submission services, analytics providers). We use established commercial providers whose published terms and privacy policies address the handling of customer data, and we select vendors with that in mind. We do not independently audit their security practices, and we cannot guarantee how any third party performs under its own agreements.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or government authority.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets.

Security of Data

We use reasonable, commercially standard measures to help protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Where Your Information Is Processed

Dave Dempsey operates in the United States. The third-party service providers we use — including website hosting, our CRM/chat provider, and analytics providers — are U.S.-based companies, but like most global cloud and analytics services, they may process, transmit, or store data using infrastructure located in the United States or other countries as part of their own operations. If you are accessing the Site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or elsewhere, which may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer and processing.

Data Retention

We retain customer contact information for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, provide the services you've requested, and meet legitimate business and legal record-keeping obligations tied to real estate and auction transactions. In general terms:

  • Inquiries that don't become transactions: contact details and the substance of your inquiry are typically kept for up to about three years in our CRM, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us.
  • Completed transactions: records connected to a real estate or auction transaction are kept for the period required of licensees and brokerages under Ohio law and our brokerage's own record-retention policy, and for applicable tax and legal purposes — generally at least three years, and often longer.
  • Website analytics: retained according to each provider's own schedule (see the Analytics section below), which we do not control beyond the settings those tools expose.

These are general practices rather than fixed guarantees — an individual record may be held longer where a legal, tax, audit, or dispute-related obligation requires it. If you're not an active client and ask us to delete your information sooner, we will do so, except where we need to keep certain records for those purposes. Analytics and Tracking Technologies

Where configured, this Site may use the following third-party analytics and tracking tools. Each operates independently under its own privacy policy, linked below:

  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — a behavior analytics tool that produces session recordings: a replay of your visit showing mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and the pages you moved between, along with aggregate heatmaps. We use these recordings to find usability problems, such as a button people try to tap that isn't working. Clarity's text masking is enabled, so the contents of form fields are excluded from what is recorded — but you should understand that your on-page activity itself is recorded and replayable.   • Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare, Inc.) — our hosting provider's own privacy-focused traffic analytics. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • GoHighLevel / LeadConnector — the customer relationship management (CRM) and chat-widget platform we use to receive form submissions, power the on-site chat widget, and follow up with inquiries. See GoHighLevel's Privacy Policy.
  • The Lead Venture — the marketing and web-development vendor that built and maintains this Site for Dave Dempsey. Their script loads on our pages and measures site and campaign performance — which pages visitors land on, which referral sources and campaigns bring them, and which pages lead to contacts. This is a vendor acting on our behalf, not an unrelated advertising network, and we do not sell or trade the data it collects. The Lead Venture operates under its own privacy practices for data it holds; if you would like a copy of those practices, contact us at dempseysells@thecarlinco.com and we will put you in touch.

We do not send the contents of your name, email address, phone number, or message text to Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, or any advertising pixel as tracked event data — those tools are used for aggregate traffic and behavior patterns, not to log what you personally typed into a form. Submitted form content goes only to GoHighLevel/LeadConnector, which we use specifically to respond to your inquiry.

Third-Party Links and Services

Our website may contain links to, or embed features from, third-party websites and services — for example, an embedded Google Maps view of our service area, a client review widget served by our CRM provider (GoHighLevel/LeadConnector, displaying reviews collected on Google and other platforms), links to review platforms (such as Google, Zillow, Realtor.com, Homes.com, or RateMyAgent), social media platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn), and our CRM/chat provider. We are not responsible for, and this Privacy Policy does not cover, the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies. Use of a third-party logo, name, or link on the Site is for identification purposes only and does not mean that company is affiliated with, sponsors, or endorses Dave Dempsey or this Site — see our Terms of Use for more on this.
